Embark on a career where your problem-solving skills and passion for perfection meet! Westminster Village is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our Facilities and Property team.

The primary focus of this position includes heating pump maintenance, cooling, refrigeration, and repairing/maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment. Responsibilities also include basic repairs of boilers, refrigeration systems, motors, pumps, plumbing, and managing routine maintenance and work orders. Experience with residential apartment unit turnover, fixture replacements, and painting is preferred. Candidates should have experience in preventive maintenance in HVAC, generators, kitchen equipment, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.

We seek someone with an eye for detail, coupled with a caring and compassionate attitude to maintain our residents' apartments and our facility at optimal condition.

Position Details:

This is a full-time, third-shift (11pm-7:30am), union-eligible position, including every other weekend and some holidays. The pay range is $24.36 to $26.36 per hour, with annual raises as part of the union benefits package. Additional benefits include:

Job Duties:

• Repair and maintain heat pumps.
• Build projects such as shelving, walls, and basic cabinetry.
• Perform minor and major plumbing repairs.
• Conduct electrical repairs, including running conduit and wiring.
• Repair and replace pumps and motors as needed.
• Handle repair and replacement of TV cable and phone lines.
• Perform outdoor tasks like snow removal and mowing.
• Familiarize with firefighting equipment, alarms, and disaster procedures.
• Attend educational meetings related to the role.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current HVAC certification or willingness to obtain within six months.
• Experience in general maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall repair, and HVAC basics.
• Ability to understand technical manuals and language used for machinery and equipment repairs.
