Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group is seeking a Maintenance and Housekeeping Manager to lead the facilities team and uphold high maintenance standards across sites. The role focuses on supervising staff, coordinating workloads, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance while driving cost-efficient operations.

The candidate will manage budgets, schedule preventive maintenance, train employees, and implement process improvements to deliver reliable, high-quality service for residents and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills are required.
• Considerable knowledge of maintenance practices, methods, and techniques.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrate strong leadership abilities and train staff.
• Able to work under pressure and enforce safety regulations.
• Very organized with attention to detail and ability to follow client direction.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance staff by determining workloads and schedules.
• Evaluates staff and makes hiring/termination recommendations, motivates staff to provide quality service.
• Maintains facilities in accordance with local and state building codes.
• Manages budgets, schedules, work plans and performance requirements for maintenance departments.
• Provides technical knowledge for maintenance projects and prepares service estimates.
• Develops and implements policies with the President to set departmental goals.
• Negotiates sub-contractor contracts and inspects contractor work for safety and procedures.
• Ensures preventive maintenance is carried out and maintains equipment records.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with employees, vendors and the public.
• Works toward continual improvement of the organization.
