Qualifications

• Basic computer skills are required.
• Considerable knowledge of practices, methods, and techniques pertaining to building and facilities maintenance and repair; knowledge of tools and equipment; safety standards.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; sound problem solving skills.
• Demonstrate strong leadership abilities; ability to train staff on policies and responsibilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and enforce safety regulations.
• Very organized with scheduling and record-keeping; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supervises maintenance staff by determining workloads and schedules.
• Evaluates staff and makes hiring or termination recommendations; motivates staff to provide quality service.
• Maintains facilities in accordance with local and state building codes.
• Manages maintenance departments with respect to cost, methods, staffing; adheres to budgets and schedules.
• Provides technical knowledge for maintenance projects; prepares service estimates and maintains budgets.
• Develops and implements policies with the President to achieve departmental goals.
• Negotiates sub-contractor contracts and inspects work for safe practices.
• Ensures preventive maintenance and maintains equipment records; evaluates equipment durability and value.
• Establishes relationships with employees, vendors, and the public.
• Works toward continual improvement of the organization.
