Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Santa Clara is seeking a Senior Building Engineer to oversee HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems for a high-profile campus.

You’ll perform repairs, monitor operations, and lead maintenance activities with autonomy to impact facility performance. You will mentor teams, coordinate with contractors, ensure compliance with codes and safety standards, and drive energy efficiency initiatives while upholding CBRE’s RISE values.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or trade school equivalent; 5–8 years of related experience.
• Shift supervisor or lead experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and EPA Universal certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assign work orders and estimate time/materials for repairs; maintain inventory.
• Maintain and repair mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire/life safety systems, per codes.
• Develop energy management program to optimize system efficiency.
• Lead outside contractors and inspect work performed; respond to inquiries.
• Advise preventive maintenance to extend equipment life; perform emergency repairs.
• Review inspections of building systems and ensure operation meets design specs.
