Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Stamford, CT is seeking an Operating Engineer (Union) to operate and maintain mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems across assigned properties. You will conduct rounds, perform preventive maintenance and respond to routine and emergency maintenance requests to keep systems running efficiently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Apprentice program or trade school preferred.
• 5+ years of related operating experience in commercial properties.
• Licenses/permits for trade as required (e.g., refrigeration, boiler, etc.).
• Proficient in using building systems software and basic computing tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing, electrical, or HVAC duties as needed for building operations.
• Maintain heating equipment, chillers, DX units, pumps, VAV, and air distribution systems.
• Monitor and adjust mechanical/pneumatic equipment, controls, and safety devices.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with property management and supervisors.
• Document activities and report maintenance needs and issues.
