Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and controls.

You will diagnose issues, perform hands-on maintenance, and document service activities in a variety of environments including mechanical spaces and roof areas. Ideal candidates bring 4–5 years of related experience, EPA 608 certification, and strong knowledge of MS Office.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
• Valid EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal or Type II).
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
• Sophisticated math skills: percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair building systems and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults and replace defective parts.
• Conduct routine system tune-ups, clean coils, check refrigerant levels, and change filters.
• Explain issues and repair options clearly to customers with upfront estimates and recommendations.
• Maintain compliance with codes, OSHA, and EPA regulations.
• Keep accurate records of service calls, parts used, and hours worked.
• Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical, plumbing, structural, life safety, and control systems.
