Job summary

CBRE is seeking an Assistant Building Engineer to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and control systems across a Santa Clara campus. You will drive energy efficiency and support preventive maintenance programs.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent), EPA Universal/608, a valid license, and CMMS experience. You will work on-site with a focus on safety and reliability, including energy management tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2–3 years related experience.
• EPA Universal/608 Certification required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs/ladders.
• Experience using CMMS for work orders and PM plans.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC/mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, and control systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance inspections and diagnose problems.
• Assist with installation and modification of building equipment and systems.
• Assign work orders and estimate time/materials for repairs.
• Support energy management for efficient building operation.
• Inspect installations for codes and safety compliance.
• Lead by example and uphold CBRE RISE values.
• Adhere to standardized procedures to meet deadlines.
• Communicate clearly and verify understanding with team.
