Job summary

CBRE Building Engineer role focusing on maintaining and repairing building systems—mechanical, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and HVAC—while ensuring safety code compliance and energy efficiency. The position involves preventive maintenance support and on-site emergency repairs at a large facility.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent with 4–5 years of experience, EPA/CFC certification preferred, and proficiency with CMMS and MS Office. Physical requirements apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma or equivalent experience with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
• Universal EPA/CFC certification is preferred; additional certifications licenses may be required by local/state jurisdictions.
• Able to meet physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting 50 lbs+.
• Microsoft Office and CMMS experience preferred; strong organizational and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire and life-safety, and control systems.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and company directives.
• Maintain an energy management program to maximize efficiency.
• Assist with implementing preventive maintenance and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Follow safety policies for handling hazardous materials and maintain a clean workplace.
• Review inspections of building systems (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing) and ensure equipment operates within design specs.
• Apply advanced knowledge, mentor others, and lead by example in alignment with CBRE RISE values.
