Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in Dallas seeks a Building Engineer to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety components. You will help keep facilities compliant with codes while optimizing energy use and system performance.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, safe handling of hazardous materials, and mentoring others. A strong background in facilities operations and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of job-related experience
• In lieu of a diploma, combination of experience and education will be considered
• Universal CFC certification preferred; certifications/licenses as required by local/state jurisdictions

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems
• Comply with codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and safety
• Maintain an energy management program to optimize system efficiency
• Assist with preventive maintenance to meet or exceed rated life and perform emergency repairs as needed
• Follow policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; keep a clean and safe workplace
• Review inspection of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation within design capabilities
• Apply knowledge to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions
• Coach others and share knowledge across disciplines
• Lead by example and foster consensus aligning with CBRE RISE values
• Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within teams
• Work within broad guidelines and policies
• Explain difficult or sensitive information
