Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer in Texas to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems across mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and safety domains. You will support preventive maintenance, energy management, and repairs to ensure reliable operations.

The role requires 4–5 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and certifications such as Universal CFC. You will work within CBRE's Engineering and Technical Services, collaborating across teams and upholding CBRE

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school with 4-5 years of job-related experience.
• Universal CFC certification preferred; licenses may be required by local/state jurisdictions.
• Ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more and meet physical requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational and numerical calculation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Ensure building systems comply with codes, regulations, and safety directives.
• Maintain energy management programs to optimize system efficiency.
• Assist with preventive maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.
• Review building system inspections (fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing).
• Share knowledge and lead by example within the team and broader function.
• Support CBRE RISE values and cross-team collaboration.
• Explain complex information clearly to stakeholders.
