Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer in the United States (Baltimore, MD area) to monitor, maintain, and repair building systems including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety components. You will support preventive maintenance, energy management, and safe operations across facilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 4–5 years of related experience; universal CFC certification is preferred. Strong MS Office and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade diploma with 4–5 years of related experience.
• Universal CFC certification preferred; licenses as required by local/state jurisdictions.
• Physical requirements include lifting 50 lbs+, stooping, standing, climbing stairs/ladders.
• Solid MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems.
• Ensure building operations comply with codes, regulations, and safety directives.
• Manage energy use with an energy management program and preventive maintenance plan.
• Perform emergency repairs and safe handling of hazardous materials.
• Review building systems to ensure operation within design specifications.
