Job summary

CAMBA is hiring a Driver/Maintenance Worker at our Brooklyn, NY location. The role requires a valid NY driver’s license, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks.

You will support housing programs through transportation, repairs, and facility upkeep. The position is full-time (35 hours/week) with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and a 403(b) plan.

Qualifications

• Must be able to comprehend written and oral instructions (work orders).
• Ability to document accomplished tasks clearly and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document maintenance issues on work orders.
• Report equipment issues promptly and accurately.
• Comply with maintenance regulatory requirements at all times.
• Inspect units to ensure safe conditions.
• Follow safety standards and wear protective gear as required.
• Clean and maintain rugs, carpets, furniture, blinds and draperies.
• Clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, tubs, showers, walls and floors.
• Replace light bulbs, fixtures, covers and outlets as needed.
• Dust and wipe furniture and equipment.
• Handle trash, recyclables and waste properly for disposal.
• Prepare for inclement weather and protect property.
• Clean storm drains and gutters for proper drainage.
• Polish metal surfaces and lighting fixtures.
• Replenish bathroom supplies and restock as needed.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows and vents.
• Plaster and paint interior surfaces as required.
• Replace door handles or locks as necessary.
• Remove graffiti from interior and exterior surfaces.
• Replace cracked or missing tiles as needed.
• Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspections.
• Report any vehicle/equipment issues immediately.
• Complete vehicle travel logs for all trips.
• Assist passengers entering or exiting vehicles as needed.
• Keep vehicles clean and free of litter.
