Job summary

CAMBA Inc. in Brooklyn, NY seeks a Driver/Maintenance Worker for our 196 Amboy Street location. This full-time role supports security and operations, conducts maintenance, and ensures safe, clean facilities for program participants.

You will perform a wide range of repairs, safety tasks, and daily vehicle checks, while upholding CAMBA policies and safety guidelines. The position offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid New York State driver’s license and an excellent driving history.
• Must complete NYS Approved Defensive Driving Classes every 3 years.
• Must take Refresher Computerized Defensive Driver class.
• Must remain insurable under CAMBA’s point system during employment.
• If required to drive 15-passenger van, pass 80% on annual van improvement test and pass Van Road Test.
• Acknowledge review of CAMBA’s Transportation Policy.
• Must sign NYC DOH/MH attestation confirming no founded child abuse record.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document maintenance issues on work orders.
• Report maintenance equipment issues immediately.
• Perform inspections to ensure safe conditions.
• Use safety standards and display safety signs during tasks.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstery, blinds, and draperies.
• Sanitize toilets, sinks, tubs, showers, and related fixtures.
• Replace light bulbs and fixtures as needed.
• Dust and wipe furniture, equipment, and vents.
• Transport trash, recyclables, and waste for disposal.
• Prepare for inclement weather and secure outdoor items.
• Clean drains and gutters to ensure drainage.
• Replenish bathroom supplies and clean surfaces.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, and vents.
• Plaster and paint interiors as required.
• Replace door handles or locks when needed.
• Remove graffiti from surfaces.
• Perform daily pre-trip vehicle inspections.
• Escort clients to appointments when needed.
• Keep vehicle clean and presentable.
