Job summary

Better Living is seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee upkeep, safety, and repairs across the facility, ensuring a clean and safe environment for residents and staff. The role requires hands-on skills and leadership to coordinate maintenance tasks and inspections.

Responsibilities include managing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work, maintaining logs, and coordinating with vendors. On-call duties and possible travel between locations are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years general maintenance experience; healthcare setting preferred.
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Strong problem-solving and ability to follow instructions.
• Good communication and customer service in resident areas.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Inspect facility, equipment, and systems for safety and operation.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders promptly.
• Maintain resident rooms, common areas, and grounds.
• Manage supplies and parts inventory; maintain logs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized work.
• Assist with snow removal and seasonal grounds maintenance.
• Be available for on-call shifts and travel between locations.
