Job summary

Alsco Uniforms in Virginia Beach is seeking a Custodian to perform general maintenance and cleaning of equipment, facilities and grounds. This role, often called Janitor, requires reliability, safety awareness and the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities include cleaning plant equipment, scrubbing, sanitizing, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping, disposing of trash, maintaining restrooms and break rooms, moving supplies, and assisting other departments.

Qualifications

• Recognize colors and sizes, count and sort accurately.
• In some locations, be able and certified to safely operate a powered industrial truck.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and procedures or willing to learn.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively with a team.
• Work independently, comprehend and follow written or verbal direction.

Responsibilities

• Clean plant equipment and maintain cleanliness of facilities.
• Scrub, sanitize, vacuum, sweep and mop surfaces.
• Dispose of trash and maintain restrooms and break rooms.
• Move supplies and assist other departments.
• Perform outdoor maintenance and assist with events as needed.
