Job summary

Alsco Uniforms in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Custodian responsible for general maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, facilities and grounds, including cleaning plant equipment, offices, bathrooms, and event preparation.

You will perform heavy cleaning, operate a powered industrial truck in some locations, restock supplies, follow safety programs, and keep records. No formal education required; physical demands include lifting up to 90 lbs.

Qualifications

• Color and size recognition to sort items accurately.
• Certification to safely operate a powered industrial truck in some locations.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and procedures or willingness to learn.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively with a team.
• Ability to work independently and follow written or verbal directions.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy cleaning duties and sanitize equipment and facilities.
• Scrub, vacuum, sweep, mop, and dispose of trash.
• Prepare facilities for events and maintain common areas.
• Move furniture and assist other departments as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and use PPE as required.
• Keep maintenance records and restock cleaning supplies.
