Job summary

Alsco Uniforms is hiring a Custodian responsible for general maintenance and cleanliness of equipment, facilities and grounds. The role, also called Janitor, supports events, safety programs and daily operations in an industrial laundry setting.

The position requires the ability to perform heavy cleaning, move supplies and operate a powered industrial truck where certified. It emphasizes safety, teamwork and independent task execution.

Qualifications

• Recognize colors and sizes, count and sort accurately.
• In some locations, be certified to safely operate a powered industrial truck.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products and procedures or willing to learn.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively with a team.
• Work independently, comprehend and follow written or verbal direction.

Responsibilities

• Performs heavy cleaning duties and scrub, sanitize, vacuum, sweep and mop.
• Dispose of trash, clean up spills, replace air fresheners, light bulbs, doors and paint as needed.
• Clean offices, bathrooms, break rooms and other areas; move furniture as required.
• Apply insecticides and perform outside maintenance; clear walkways of snow or leaves.
• Maintain records, monitor supplies, operate powered industrial truck when required.
