Job summary

Thompson First Group is seeking Fabrication Operator/Assemblers for contract-to-hire roles with a local client. Candidates with experience in mechanical, electrical, or electronic assembly in a manufacturing environment are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include assembling and installing metal building structures, reading blueprints, and ensuring quality and safety standards. The team works on various structural components and collaborates to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, carpentry, drywall, or related hands-on trade.
• Ability to safely operate small tools and power tools.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install metal building structures and components per specs.
• Install doors, windows, panels, framing, and other components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work instructions.
• Perform detailed assembly to meet quality and safety standards.
• Verify materials and hardware for completeness prior to shipment.
• Safely operate forklifts, man lifts, and material handling equipment.
• Load/unload and position materials for transport; maintain clean work area.
• Collaborate with team to meet production schedules and timelines.
• Work independently when required while staying aligned with team goals.
