Job summary

America's Best in Austin, TX is seeking an Assistant Eyeglass Manager to lead the eyeglass department and oversee daily operations, driving sales and ensuring exceptional customer service. You will supervise staff, manage promotions, review financials, and collaborate with the General Manager and district/corporate teams to meet goals.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience; supervising experience is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and build associate relationships.
• Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written) for effective management of teams.
• Strong organizational skills for planning work and continuously monitoring progress towards goals.
• Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (i.e. reviewing the P&L).
• Oversee eyeglass department for efficiency and policy compliance.
• Provide outstanding customer service and coach associates to do the same.
• Review remakes and enforce quality policies.
• Prepare store reporting and communicate with management and corporate.
• Manage store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising.
• Supervise Opticians and CL Sales associates and ensure day-to-day tasks.
• Assist with forecasting staffing, recruiting and retention.
• Motivate staff to exceed performance standards.
• Respect licensing requirements vary by location.
