Job summary

joinaegvision is seeking an Optician to help patients select frames, measure for proper fit, and dispense lenses with correct prescriptions. You will use tools like pupilometers and lensometers, explain product options, and ensure accuracy and satisfaction.

This role requires a high school diploma, customer service experience, HIPAA awareness, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds. You will collaborate with clinicians and store staff to maintain smooth order flow and patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Dependability and punctuality.
• Ability to lift up to 30lbs, bend, kneel, and stand up to 8hrs a day.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient with clear product explanations.
• Develops clientele through outstanding service and referrals.
• Keeps current on products, procedures, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Takes and updates patient calls, resolves order issues with the Store Manager when needed.
• Retrieves patient charts and electronic health records.
• Assists patients in frame/lens selection and lens treatments.
• Educates patients on eyeglass and contact lens care.
• Collects eye and face measurements for proper fit.
• Interprets prescriptions written by optometrist/ophthalmologist.
• Creates work orders for lab technicians and tracks orders.
