Job summary

AEG is seeking an Optician to provide eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care on-site in Texas. You will assist patients, interpret prescriptions, and ensure accurate lens dispensing with a focus on quality and customer service.

Responsibilities include frame fitting, order coordination, insurance knowledge, and ongoing education with patients. ABO/NCLE preferred; experience with EHR systems a plus.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Windows applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting eyewear and accessories that fit prescription, lifestyle, and style.
• Ensure proper frame fit, accurate measurements, and lens dispensing with quality patient service.
• Educate patients on insurance, warranty, care, and replacement options.
• Enter all prescription information into the EHR and ALE systems and document accordingly.
• Dispense glasses and adjust eyewear for fit and comfort; perform repairs as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the practice environment and displays.
• Communicate with technicians and managers about order status and patient needs.
