Job summary

AEG in Lima, OH seeks an Optician to provide expert eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will help patients select frames, ensure proper fit, and dispense lenses with accuracy and great service.

Responsibilities include taking measurements, interpreting prescriptions, and using tools like lensometers and pupilometers. A strong focus on quality, insurance knowledge, and patient satisfaction is required.

Qualifications

• High School or GED qualification.
• ABO/NCLE preferred but not required.
• Minimum of one-year experience working as an Optician strongly preferred.
• Experience with HIPAA requirements preferred.
• PC skills to include MS Office, Windows, and word processing.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor, experience with sales preferred.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient with tailored product recommendations.
• Receive patient handoff and identify visual needs to recommend frames, lenses, and treatments.
• Stay current on products, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Take and update patient calls, resolve order issues, and escalate when needed.
• Educate patients on eyewear care, warranty, and insurance coverage.
• Interpret prescriptions and enter information into the EHR/ALE system.
