Job summary

Talentify in Missouri seeks an Optician to help patients choose frames, lenses, and coatings, take precise measurements, and ensure proper fit and comfort.

You will communicate order status, work with lab teams, and educate patients on care while maintaining HIPAA standards and delivering an exceptional in-store experience.

Preferred candidates have at least 1 year as an optician, strong customer service, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Minimum of one-year experience as an Optician preferred.
• HIPAA experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Excellent customer service skills and pleasant demeanor; sales experience a plus.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Dependability and punctuality.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, bend, kneel, and stand for up to 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Delivers extraordinary experience to each patient and explains customized product recommendations.
• Develops own clientele through outstanding service and referrals.
• Keeps up-to-date on products, rebates, and lens/frame options.
• Takes and updates patient calls, communicates order status, and resolves issues.
• Retrieves patient charts and electronic health records.
• Assists patients in frame/lens selection and lens treatments.
• Educates patients on eyeglass and contact lens care.
• Collects eye/face measurements for proper fit.
• Interprets prescriptions from optometrists and ophthalmologists.
• Creates lab work orders for lenses and monitors order progress.
• Dispenses glasses after fit checks; adjusts as needed.
• Performs eyewear adjustments and repairs using tools.
• Communicates with technicians/store staff to coordinate orders.
• Inspects final product for flaws and maintains cleanliness and displays.
