Job summary

Community Eye Care Specialists is seeking an experienced Optician to join our team. You will interpret prescriptions, help patients choose frames and lenses, and ensure proper fit and comfort. You will take precise measurements and communicate with labs to process orders.

The role requires a Dispensing Optician License, strong attention to detail, and at least five years of opticianry experience. Competitive hourly pay and full benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent years related experience required.
• Dispensing Optician License required.
• Minimum of 5 year opticianry experience.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with selecting frames based on prescription needs, fit, comfort, and style.
• Educate patients on lens materials, coatings, and technologies.
• Explain pricing, warranties, and insurance benefits related to eyewear.
• Read and interpret prescriptions from optometrists or ophthalmologists.
• Take precise optical measurements such as pupillary distance, segment height, multifocal alignment, bridge and temple measurements.
• Ensure eyewear fits correctly by adjusting frames for comfort, balance, and proper optical alignment.
• Submit and track eyewear orders through in-house or external lab partners.
• Inspect completed glasses for accuracy, lens quality, and compliance with prescriptions.
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments, including replacing screws, pads, and temples.
• Instruct patients on eyewear care, cleaning, and adjustments.
• Educate about lens features and adaption periods for all lenses.
