Job summary

Kovach Eye Institute in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Scribe to support the physician in the clinic by transcribing appropriate data into the patient medical record during exams and by assisting the technician with administrative and clinical tasks.

No experience is required; training is provided. The role offers starting hourly wage and a benefits package, with opportunities for growth through company-paid certification programs.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous experience in optometry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• During the exam, accurately enter information into EHR as dictated by the doctor.
• Assist optometrist and ophthalmologist with patient procedures.
• Escort the patient to Optical and introduce to the Optician, reiterating the doctor’s recommendations.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office, properly communicating delays.
• Prepare exam room by cleaning instruments and maintaining inventory of medications and supplies.
• Provide a safe, clean, organized and inviting environment for both patients and staff.
• Perform other duties and assume various responsibilities as determined by leadership.
• Depending upon patient volume, assist with answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, and maintaining appointment books.
