Job summary

Luxottica’s South East Eye Group seeks an Optometric Technician to support high-quality eye care. You will assist with patient care and eye exams, manage records, and help with vision testing and contact lens services.

Work includes accurate measurements, patient education, and teamwork with optometrists and staff. Training and flexible scheduling help deliver excellent patient experiences.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• 2+ years experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing (pre-exam testing, pretesting, visual acuity, etc.)
• Coaching skills
• Strong communicator and listening skills
• Problem solving ability
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to assess priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of office environment
• Strong basic math skills

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams and manages patient records
• Performs tests to aid optometrist with vision examinations
• Reviews prescriptions and patient information for accuracy
• Maintains HIPAA-compliant record handling
• Supports contact lens exams and orders
• Operates appointment books and POS system
• Ensures a safe, clean working environment
• Performs pre-examination testing with accuracy and explains measurements
