Job summary

Warby Parker seeks an Optometric Technician for Brookfield Place to support eye exams with our optometrists in a fast-paced retail setting. You will assist with pre-testing, data collection, and patient flow, ensuring a stellar exam experience.

Responsibilities include autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing, and training on contact lens insertion/removal. You will help maintain records and comply with privacy policies while supporting store operations.

Qualifications

• Professional, articulate, and have a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Able to multitask and manage time effectively in a high-volume setting.
• Comfortable with technology and able to learn new medical applications quickly.
• 1+ years of experience in a medical environment supporting doctors.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between doctor and patient, establishing rapport.
• Perform preliminary clinical data collection (e.g., autorefraction, visual acuity, eye pressure, pupil testing).
• Support in-person and video-assisted eye exam appointments.
• Deliver insertion and removal training to new contact lens wearers and train others as directed.
• Assist with booking processes, outreach, and follow-up to ensure smooth appointments.
• Maintain meticulous records of data collected and prepare reports as needed.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA/PIPEDA and privacy policies.
• Prepare and maintain organized exam rooms and replenish supplies.
• Support retail sales team as directed by Store Leader.
