Job summary

Eyecare Associates of Southern Oregon is seeking an Optometric Technician to support eye examinations and patient care in Medford, OR. You will help with pre-testing, patient history, and guiding patients through the clinical experience.

The role involves working with optical instruments, performing measurements, and training patients on contact lens insertion, under the supervision of an optometrist. Prior experience and MS Office skills are valued.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of related experience.
• Working knowledge of MS Office.
• Effective verbal communication to prioritize tasks and answer inquiries.
• Effective written communication to document patient visits.
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
• Ability to diagnose patient needs through questions.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients by gathering history and documenting in the record.
• Operate clinical instruments, take measurements, and perform pre-testing.
• Perform contact lens insertion; educate patients on lens use.
• Order contact lenses and manage trials inventory.
• Administer topical ophthalmic and dilation medications.
• Scribe for the doctor and translate as needed.
• Prioritize patient care and flow, communicate with staff and doctors.
• Assist in other areas and participate in special projects or cross-training.
