Job summary

Eyecare Associates of Southern Oregon in Medford, OR is seeking an Optometric Technician to support eye examinations and patient care.

You will assist the optometrist, perform pre-testing, take patient history, and guide patients through the clinical experience, using MS Office and maintaining records.

This full-time role involves working with clinical instruments, managing contact lens trials, and ensuring smooth patient flow throughout the visit.

Qualifications

• One to two years of experience in a related field.
• Working knowledge of MS Office package.
• Effective verbal communication skills to prioritize multiple tasks and to be available for incoming calls and inquiries.
• Effective written communication skills to clearly document patient visits.
• Excellent interpersonal and rapport-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Optometrist with eye examinations and patient eye care.
• Prepare patients before the examination and document information in the patient’s record.
• Take measurements and administer tests to assess visual capabilities.
• Perform contact lens insertion and education.
• Order contact lenses and manage trials inventory.
• Administer topical ophthalmic and dilation medications.
• Scribe for the doctor and translate as needed.
• Maintain patient flow and communicate with staff and patients.
