Job summary

EssilorLuxottica is seeking an Optometric Technician for Olympia Vision Clinic Lacey to ensure high-quality eye care and a seamless patient experience. You will assist with eye exams, manage patient flow, and support the optometrist with testing and documentation.

The role requires 2+ years in eye care, strong communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Weekend/evening shifts may be required in certain locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in optometry, ophthalmology or healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of optical and medical terminology.
• Understanding and utilization of optical equipment and diagnostic testing (pre-exam testing, pretesting, visual acuity, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Assists with patient care and eye exams, including managing patient records and supporting patient flow throughout the exam.
• Performs various tests to aid the optometrist with vision examinations including visual acuity measurements, depth and color perception test, and retinal imaging.
• Performs tests to aid the optometrist in accurate diagnosis and treatment for the patient in appropriate time frame.
• Reviews prescriptions and patient information, identifies special needs, and consults with Optometrist or Practice Manager when necessary.
• Identifies situations involving dissatisfied patients and acts quickly for resolution.
• Maintains patient records accurately and HIPAA-compliant.
• Supports contact lens exams and orders, including contact lens care and orders.
• Operates scheduling and POS systems accurately; handles transactions as needed.
• Maintains a safe working environment and supports merchandising in exam lanes and contact lens area.
• Performs pre-examination testing with accuracy and explains measurements to patients.
• Maintains and disinfects equipment; provides clinical support to the Optometrist.
• Works weekends and evenings as needed.
• Adheres to attendance and daily time-keeping requirements.
• Adheres to company policies and dress code.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
