Job summary

AEG is seeking a Practice Manager to lead daily operations, foster team development, and ensure an exceptional patient care environment. You will drive service excellence, manage staffing and exam flow in a fast-paced setting, while aligning with providers and leadership to meet performance goals.

The role emphasizes accountability, compassionate leadership, and collaboration with Optometrists and Field Leaders to support growth and operational efficiency, including AI-enabled tools adoption.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of leadership experience in optical, healthcare, retail, hospitality, or a comparable service environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Business, hospitality, healthcare, optical, or management education preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Eyecare or optical practice leadership experience preferred.
• Optician certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily practice operations, patient flow, staffing, scheduling, labor planning, service execution, and operational consistency across the practice.
• Serve as the primary on-site floor leader by supporting team alignment, patient needs, service recovery, and real-time operational priorities.
• Establish clear expectations for staff and communicate priorities, roles, patient care standards, and performance goals.
• Partner with the Optometrist to support exam flow, clinical support expectations, and evolving service offerings.
• Lead, coach, develop, recognize, and hold team members accountable for performance and patient care standards.
• Support new hire development, ongoing training, company initiatives, technology updates, and process changes.
• Reinforce exceptional patient service behaviors that support trust, clear communication, timely follow-up, and a smooth patient experience.
• Monitor patient feedback, service trends, and operational barriers; identify opportunities to improve experience and performance.
• Review daily/weekly/monthly results to identify trends, gaps, risks, and opportunities.
• Partner with District Manager to support sales, profitability, patient experience, and practice growth.
• Communicate key priorities to the team and connect results to behavior and execution.
• Utilize reports and trend data to identify opportunities across access, service, staffing, and efficiency.
• Learn and adapt quickly to practice systems and evolving digital workflows.
