Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Climbing Trimmer to service Medina and Lorain County, OH. CDL holder preferred; outdoor work and climbing required in a utility environment.

You will prune and remove trees near electric lines, operate chainsaws, chippers, and lifts, and work closely with a foreperson and ground crew to complete jobs safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license at hire.
• Completion of the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Completion of the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• CDL Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement preferred.
• Line clearance experience or related tree work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems and prune/remove as needed.
• Safely perform pruning and removal for major electric utility providers.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs and other objects.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts.
• Work as part of the crew with ground personnel and foreperson.

Skills

Valid driver's license

CDL Class A/B preferred

Line clearance/tree work experience

First Aid / CPR certified

Defensive driving training
