Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Akron, OH is seeking an experienced Line Clearance Climbing Trimmer, CDL holder preferred, to join our service team for the Greater Akron, Ohio region.

The office outdoors, daily variation, and teamwork are core to this role. You will perform pruning and removal for major electric utility providers using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems, maintain gear, and collaborate with ground crews and a foreperson to deliver safe, high-quality tree work.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: CDL-A or CDL-B with Air Brake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance/tree work experience
• Preferred: pesticide licenses if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA/TCIA certifications if applicable

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems
• Perform pruning and removal for utility providers
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs and objects
• Identify trees and apply pruning guidelines
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and related gear
• Work as part of a crew with foreperson and ground crew
