Job summary

Centers Laboratory of New Jersey is actively seeking Phlebotomists to work weekdays from 8 AM to 7 PM at our Newark, NJ laboratory. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of prior phlebotomy experience and excellent interpersonal skills.

Phlebotomists draw blood, prepare patients, label specimens, and ensure safety and accuracy while maintaining patient confidentiality. Reports to the Phlebotomy Supervisor; position may involve multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy Technician certificate preferred.
• 2 years proven experience as a phlebotomist.
• Ability to work nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and prepare specimens according to standards.
• Assemble supplies and equipment for specimen collection.
• Draw blood using proper techniques and equipment.
• Label tubes correctly and ensure proper test tube order of draw.
• Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality.
• Follow safety standards and dispose of medical waste properly.
• Monitor patient and equipment for proper operation.
