Qualifications

Job description

Experienced Home Infusion Collection Specialist

Advanced Infusion Care specializes in intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (Sub Q) immunoglobulin therapy patient care. AIC is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection specialist to join our dynamic team. This is a remote position; however, candidates local to the DFW area may work from the office. The role involves managing collection processes, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing-related issues with insurance companies or other responsible parties for services rendered.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and the ability to work in compliance with Federal and State regulations related to billing and collection activities.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience required.
  • 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience required.
  • Home Infusion experience preferred.
  • CPR and CareTend experience are a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Respect patient rights and confidentiality, supporting them in their responsibilities.
  • Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalate issues as needed.
  • Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply them accordingly.
  • Identify bad debts and initiate write-offs and adjustments per policies.
  • Investigate overpayments or duplicate payments and resolve accordingly.
  • Process refund requests following policies.
  • Maintain communication with other departments to gather necessary information for claims.
  • Ensure activities comply with regulatory mandates and guidelines.
  • Verify billing accounts and ensure proper posting of payments.
  • Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and document interactions thoroughly.
  • Seek opportunities to maximize claim reimbursements.
  • Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Understand NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical billing codes.
  • Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
  • Interact positively and respectfully with colleagues and patients.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
  • Understanding of Revenue Cycle Management functions.
  • Good judgment in complex situations, with adherence to laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong work ethic, integrity, and credibility.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information following HIPAA guidelines.
  • Proficiency with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to lead a diverse team amidst changing priorities.
  • Effective communication skills with all stakeholders.
  • Self-directed, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to train staff and manage work schedules.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and relationship management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
