Experienced Home Infusion Collection Specialist

Advanced Infusion Care specializes in intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (Sub Q) immunoglobulin therapy patient care. AIC, a division of AIS Healthcare, is looking for an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection specialist to join our dynamic team! This is a remote position; however, if you are local to the DFW area, working from the office is an option. The role involves managing collection processes, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or responsible parties for services rendered.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and compliance with Federal and State regulations related to billing and collections.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience required.
• 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience required.
• Home Infusion experience preferred.
• CPR +/Caretend experience is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respect patient rights and confidentiality, supporting them in their responsibilities.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalate issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply them accordingly.
• Identify bad debts, A/R adjustments, overpayments, and duplicate payments; initiate write-offs and adjustments per policies.
• Process refund requests following policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with other departments to obtain necessary patient or insurance information.
• Ensure all collection activities comply with regulatory mandates and guidelines.
• Verify billing accounts against the receivable ledger for accuracy.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and document calls thoroughly.
• Seek opportunities to maximize claim reimbursements.
• Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Maintain knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, insurance plans, medical terminology, billing procedures, and codes.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
• Interact positively and respectfully with colleagues and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
