Experienced Home Infusion Collection Specialist

Advanced Infusion Care specializes in intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (Sub Q) immunoglobulin therapy patient care. AIC is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection specialist to join our dynamic team. This remote position is ideal for candidates outside the DFW area; local candidates may work from the office. The role involves managing collection processes, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or responsible parties for services rendered.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and compliance with Federal and State regulations related to billing and collections.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience.
• 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience.
• Experience in Home Infusion preferred.
• CPR and CareTend experience are pluses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respect patient rights and maintain confidentiality and privacy.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment, escalating issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments and denials for accuracy and proper application.
• Identify and process bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments per policies.
• Investigate overpayments and duplicate payments, resolving discrepancies.
• Process refund requests following policies.
• Coordinate with departments to obtain necessary patient or insurance information.
• Adhere to all regulatory mandates and ensure compliance.
• Verify billing accounts against the receivable ledger.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies via calls and document interactions thoroughly.
• Maximize claim reimbursements and resolve denials within 5 days.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical codes.
• Share knowledge with team members and foster positive interactions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:

• Understanding of Revenue Cycle Management functions.
• Good judgment in complex situations, with legal and regulatory awareness.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Integrity, credibility, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to handle sensitive information per HIPAA guidelines.
• Proficiency with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, medical terminology, and Microsoft Office.
