Experienced Home Infusion Collection Specialist

Job Description:

Advanced Infusion Care specializes in intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (Sub Q) immunoglobulin therapy patient care. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time, remote position; candidates local to the DFW area may work from our office. The role involves managing collection processes, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or other responsible parties.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, extensive knowledge of collection practices, and compliance with Federal and State regulations related to billing and collections.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience.
• 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience.
• Experience in Home Infusion preferred.
• CPR certification and CareTend experience are a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respect patient rights and confidentiality.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalate issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments and denials for accuracy and proper application.
• Identify and process bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments according to policies.
• Investigate overpayments and duplicate payments, resolving discrepancies.
• Process refund requests following policies.
• Coordinate with other departments for information needed for claim payment.
• Ensure activities comply with regulatory mandates.
• Verify billing accounts against the receivable ledger.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and document calls thoroughly.
• Seek opportunities to maximize reimbursement.
• Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and compliance.
• Understand NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical terminology.
• Share knowledge and collaborate as a team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
