Experienced Home Infusion Collection Specialist

AIC, a division of AIS Healthcare, is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is a remote position; however, candidates local to the DFW area may work from the office. The role involves managing collection processes, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing-related issues with insurance companies or other responsible parties for services rendered.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and compliance with Federal and State regulations related to billing and collections.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience required.
• 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience required.
• Home Infusion experience preferred.
• CPR and CareTend experience are pluses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respect patient rights and confidentiality, supporting them in their responsibilities.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalate issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply them accordingly.
• Identify bad debts and initiate write-offs and adjustments following policies.
• Investigate overpayments and duplicate payments, resolving discrepancies.
• Process refund requests per policies.
• Coordinate with other departments to obtain necessary patient or insurance information.
• Understand and adhere to all regulatory mandates and procedures.
• Ensure collection activities comply with federal, state, and payer regulations.
• Verify billing accounts against the receivable ledger for accuracy.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies through calls and documentation.
• Document all communications thoroughly.
• Seek opportunities to maximize claim reimbursements.
• Resolve denials within 5 days of receipt.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and insurance plans.
• Share knowledge and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Interact positively and respectfully with colleagues and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
