Experienced Home Infusion Collection Specialist

Job Description:

Advanced Infusion Care specializes in intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (Sub Q) immunoglobulin therapy patient care. Committed to innovation, stewardship, and unity, we focus on advancing quality and improving lives by providing top-tier products and services that enhance the care experience.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection Specialist to join our team. This is a remote position, though local candidates in the DFW area may work from the office. The role involves managing collection processes, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or responsible parties.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and compliance with federal and state regulations related to billing and collections.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience.
  • 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience.
  • Experience in home infusion preferred.
  • CPR and CareTend experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respect patient rights and confidentiality.
  • Follow up on invoices to ensure timely payment.
  • Evaluate payments and denials, ensuring correct application.
  • Identify and process bad debt write-offs and adjustments.
  • Investigate overpayments and duplicate payments.
  • Process refunds as needed.
  • Coordinate with other departments for claim information.
  • Ensure activities comply with regulatory mandates.
  • Verify billing accounts and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Document all interactions thoroughly.
  • Maximize claim reimbursements.
  • Resolve denial issues within 5 days.
  • Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
  • Maintain knowledge of NDC, infusion supplies, insurance plans, and medical coding.
  • Share knowledge and work collaboratively.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Understanding of revenue cycle management.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Integrity and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to train and lead within a dynamic environment.
