Experienced Home Infusion Collection Specialist

Advanced Infusion Care specializes in intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (Sub Q) immunoglobulin therapy patient care. AIC is looking for an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection expert to join our dynamic team. This is a remote position; however, candidates local to the DFW area may work from the office. The AR Collection role is full-time and involves contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or other responsible parties for services rendered.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and comply with Federal and State rules, regulations, and policies related to billing and collection activities.

Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience is required.
  • Home Infusion experience is preferred.
  • CPR and CareTend experience are a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respect patient rights and confidentiality, supporting them in job duties.
  • Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalate issues as needed.
  • Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply them accordingly.
  • Identify bad debts and A/R adjustments; initiate write-offs and adjustments per policies.
  • Identify overpayments or duplicate payments, investigate, and resolve.
  • Process refund requests following policies.
  • Coordinate with other departments for necessary patient or insurance information.
  • Ensure activities comply with regulatory mandates.
  • Conduct activities consistent with department protocols and regulations.
  • Verify billing accounts against the A/R ledger.
  • Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and establish resolutions.
  • Document calls and call details thoroughly.
  • Maximize claim reimbursement opportunities.
  • Resolve denials within 5 days of receipt.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, insurance plans, medical terminology, billing procedures, and codes.
  • Share knowledge with team members and foster a positive team environment.
  • Interact respectfully and professionally with all stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to handle sensitive information, with HIPAA knowledge.
  • Proficiency with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Effective communication with patients, staff, and providers.
  • Self-directed, organized, detail-oriented, and conscientious.
  • Experience in training staff and managing work schedules.
  • Ability to resolve complex problems systematically.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle interruptions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
