AIC is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection specialist to join our dynamic team. This remote position is ideal for candidates with strong collection practices, excellent communication skills, and compliance knowledge. The role involves contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or responsible parties.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience, including medical billing and collections.
• Experience in Home Infusion preferred.
• CPR+/Caretend experience is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respect patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalate issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply accordingly.
• Identify bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments, and process them per policies.
• Investigate overpayments or duplicate payments and resolve them.
• Process refund requests according to policies.
• Coordinate with other departments for information needed for claim processing.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates.
• Verify billing accounts and ensure payments are properly posted.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and document calls thoroughly.
• Seek opportunities to maximize claim reimbursements.
• Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and adhere to all guidelines.
• Understand NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical terminology.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
• Interact positively and respectfully with colleagues and patients.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Understanding of Revenue Cycle Management functions.
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills in complex situations.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Integrity, credibility, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to handle sensitive material and HIPAA compliance.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology.
• Leadership ability and adaptability to change.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
