Experienced Home Infusion Collection Specialist

Advanced Infusion Care specializes in intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (Sub Q) immunoglobulin therapy patient care. AIC, a division of AIS Healthcare, is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection specialist to join our dynamic team. This remote position is ideal for candidates with local DFW area proximity who can work from the office. The role involves managing collection processes, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing-related issues with insurance companies or other responsible parties for services rendered.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and compliance with federal and state regulations related to billing and collections.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience required.
• 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience required.
• Experience in home infusion preferred.
• CPR certification or related experience is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Respect patient rights to privacy and confidentiality while performing job duties.
• Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment and escalate issues as needed.
• Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply accordingly.
• Identify bad debts and initiate write-offs and adjustments per policies.
• Investigate overpayments or duplicate payments and resolve issues.
• Process refund requests following policies.
• Coordinate with other departments to obtain necessary patient or insurance information.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates.
• Conduct collection activities in accordance with department protocols and regulations.
• Verify billing accounts against receivable ledger for accuracy.
• Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and establish resolutions.
• Document all communications thoroughly and consistently.
• Seek opportunities to maximize claim reimbursements.
• Resolve denial issues within 5 days of receipt.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical coding.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
• Interact positively and respectfully with colleagues and patients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
