Experienced Home Infusion Collection Specialist

Advanced Infusion Care specializes in intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (Sub Q) immunoglobulin therapy patient care. AIC is looking for an experienced and motivated Accounts Receivable Collection expert to join our dynamic team. This position is remote; however, if local to the DFW area, working from the office is an option. The AR Collection role is full-time and involves managing collection processes, including contract analysis, reimbursement, denial management, appeals, and resolving billing issues with insurance companies or other responsible parties for services rendered.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and work in compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations related to billing and collections.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience required.
  • 3-5 years of medical billing and collections experience required.
  • Home infusion experience preferred.
  • CPR certification and CareTend experience are a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respect patients’ rights and confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Follow up on invoices to ensure prompt payment; escalate issues as needed.
  • Evaluate payments and denials for correctness and apply them appropriately.
  • Identify and process bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments per policies.
  • Investigate overpayments and duplicate payments, resolving discrepancies.
  • Process refund requests following policies.
  • Coordinate with other departments to obtain necessary patient or insurance information.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory mandates.
  • Conduct activities consistent with department protocols and regulations.
  • Verify billing accounts against the receivable ledger.
  • Troubleshoot payment discrepancies and document calls thoroughly.
  • Seek opportunities to maximize claim reimbursements.
  • Resolve denials within 5 days of receipt.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Understand NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and related knowledge.
  • Maintain broad knowledge of insurance plans, medical terminology, billing procedures, regulations, and codes.
  • Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
  • Interact positively and respectfully with others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
