Job summary

NexCare Health in Detroit, MI is seeking an Experienced Cook to join our EPICteam. You will prepare meals following all guidelines and coordinate production with serving times to ensure quality and appearance.

We offer new hourly rate of $17.85 plus hero pay, with starting wage $17.00, annual increases, and strong benefits including tuition reimbursement, medical, PTO, 401k, and life insurance. All shifts mornings/afternoons with rotating weekends; no late nights.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills.
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably in supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals following all necessary guidelines and regulations.
• Coordinate food production to coincide with meal serving times ensuring quality, temperature and appearance are achieved.
• Assist with tray line setup and plate assembly.
• Assist with daily cleaning requirements in the kitchen.
• Promote hospitality and excellent customer service in daily interactions with guests, families and visitors.

Our cooks prepare amazing and nourishing meals for our residents and ensure the highest quality standards of foodservice and the best culinary experience is provided at all times. They work closely with the Dietary Director to create and review menus, prepare food, and ensure the meals are prepared in accordance with established portion control procedures, sanitary regulations, and established policies and procedures.

You will earn: $17.85 per hour - NEW RATE!

• Starting wages $17.00 per hour
• PLUS Hero Pay($0.85 per hour!)

We can work with your scheduling needs:

• All positions include rotating weekends and some holidays

What you will need to be part of ourEPICteam:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Computer Skills
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility, with strong knowledge of food procedures. Experience in a Long Term Care facility is highly desirable.
