Job summary

Bay Shores Senior Care and Rehab Center in Bay City, MI is seeking a part-time Cook to join our EPIC Culinary team. You will prepare meals, follow guidelines, and coordinate with the Dietary Director to ensure quality and timely service.

We offer competitive pay starting at $17.35/hour plus hero pay, rotating weekends, and comprehensive benefits including tuition reimbursement, PTO, medical, dental, vision, 401k, and life insurance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Computer Skills.
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility.
• Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to care.
• You are a team player and dedicated to supporting your team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals following all necessary guidelines and regulations.
• Coordinate food production to align with meal serving times, ensuring quality, temperature, and appearance.
• Assist with tray line setup and plate assembly.
• Assist with daily kitchen cleaning responsibilities.
• Promote hospitality and excellent customer service in daily interactions with guests, families, and visitors.

Our cooks prepare amazing and nourishing meals for our residents and ensure the highest quality standards of food service and the best culinary experience is provided at all times.

Our cooks will work closely with the Dietary Director to create and review menus, prepare food, and ensure the meals are prepared in accordance with established portion control procedures, sanitary regulations, and established policies and procedures.

This is a part time position

You will earn: $17.35 per hour to start!

• $16.50 per hour
• PLUS Hero Pay($0.85 per hour!)

We can work with your scheduling needs:

• All shifts will include rotating weekends (every other weekend) and some holidays
• 2nd Shift - Evenings

How you will help people every day as Cook:

• You will prepare meals following all necessary guidelines and regulations
• You will coordinate food production to coincide with meal serving times ensuring excellence in quality, temperature and appearance are achieved
• You may assist with tray line setup and plate assembly
• You will assist with daily cleaning requirements in the kitchen

What you will need to be part of ourEPICteam:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Computer Skills
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility, with strong knowledge of food procedures. Experience in a Long Term Care facility is highly desirable.
• Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to delivering Excellent, Passionate, Innovative care!
