Job summary

Bay Shores Senior Care and Rehab Center in Bay City, MI is seeking a Cook to join our EPIC Culinary team. You will help prepare nourishing meals for residents and work closely with the Dietary Director to review menus and ensure quality and safety.

This role starts at $17.35 per hour, with an additional $0.85 per hour hero pay and regular wage increases. All shifts include rotating weekends and some holidays, plus a strong benefits package is offered including tuition reimbursement,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills needed.
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably with supervisory duties, in a care facility is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals following all guidelines and regulations.
• Coordinate food production to match serving times with quality and presentation.
• Assist with tray line setup and plate assembly.
• Assist with daily kitchen cleaning.
• Promote hospitality and excellent customer service in interactions with guests, families, and visitors.

Our cooks prepare amazing and nourishing meals for our residents and ensure the highest quality standards of food service and the best culinary experience is provided at all times.

Our cooks will work closely with the Dietary Director to create and review menus, prepare food, and ensure the meals are prepared in accordance with established portion control procedures, sanitary regulations, and established policies and procedures.

You will earn: $17.35 per hour to start!

• $16.50 per hour

We can work with your scheduling needs:

• All shifts will include rotating weekends (every other weekend) and some holidays
• 2nd Shift - Evenings

How you will help people every day as Cook:

• You will prepare meals following all necessary guidelines and regulations
• You will coordinate food production to coincide with meal serving times ensuring excellence in quality, temperature and appearance are achieved
• You may assist with tray line setup and plate assembly
• You will assist with daily cleaning requirements in the kitchen

What you will need to be part of ourEPICteam:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Computer Skills
• At least 2 years of related food experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility, with strong knowledge of food procedures. Experience in a Long Term Care facility is highly desirable.
