Job summary

PetSmart is seeking an Assistant Store Manager Customer Experience to lead the team and deliver exceptional pet-parent service. You will drive store performance, coach associates, and coordinate staffing while upholding safety and store policies.

The role requires partner collaboration across departments and hands-on leadership in a fast-paced retail environment. You will oversee customer and pet experiences, support hotel, salon, and services, and ensure a welcoming, values-based culture

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of retail leadership or customer-focused experience.
• Full-time availability; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in computer applications and POS systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Leads the store experience, ensuring safety and service for customers and pets.
• Participates in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Coordinates staffing for busy store periods and events.
• Communicates priorities and ensures policy and procedure adherence.
• Drives store performance, manages labor and supplies within budget.
• Oversees events and marketing efforts to support adoptions and services.
