Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support clinicians and ensure smooth patient flow. You will assist in procedures, manage operatory setup, and uphold infection control standards while providing patient education and care throughout visits.

Qualifications

• Must have active dental assistant license/registration as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DA office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist doctors during treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes and ensure staff training on asepsis.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, autoclave, and compressor.
• Tray and operatory setup for all procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
• Follow OSHA regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and aftercare.
• Perform denture relines and temporary crowns as needed.
• Monitor and aid in laboratory cases.
• Perform quality intraoral health scans under 5 minutes.
• Understand clear aligner processes and how to teach them.
• Take quality impressions and bite registrations.
• Perform expanded functions based on certifications.
• Maintain emergency kits and oxygen tanks.
• Order and maintain supplies according to budget.
• Perform various office tasks as necessary.
