Job summary

Aspen Dental is hiring an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support daily patient care and help manage a busy dental office in Florida. You will assist doctors, set up operatory rooms, take X-rays, and train staff to maintain high standards of infection control and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant License/Certification as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting/four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate and provide instruction on proper sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Maintain and update annual CE requirement as specified by state.
• State Certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist with office direction to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory; ensure staff training and compliance.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, suction lines, autoclave, and compressor.
• Tray and operatory set-up for all procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
• Follow OSHA regulations and safety requirements, including HIPAA compliance.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies.
• Complete denture relines and temporary crowns.
• Monitor and aid in laboratory management and case handling.
• Perform quality intraoral health scans and impressions as needed.
